Northern Avalon in 2010 - Cupids 400 Inc.
Cupids 400 Inc. is celebrating the first permanent English Settlement in Canada in Cupids in 1610. As well, Cupids 400 Inc. is involving communities in the region in legacy projects, so that each community will not only have special events in the summer of 2010, but will have a lasting legacy from the celebrations.

May 11 Cupids Canadian Museum Association Conference 40 delegates of the Canadian Museum Association will visit Cupids to view the Cupids Legacy Centre and the archaeology site. This is a pre-conference site visit with presentations on interpretive planning. (A Cupids 400 Event)

May 29 Cupids Tour by Royal Commonwealth Society The Royal Commonwealth Society will be hosting the annual AGM in St. John’s from May 27th - May 30th. May 29th, the RCS will visit Cupids for site of the archaeology dig, Cupids Legacy Centre, Heritage Garden and tour of the community. (A Cupids 400 Event)

June 12 & 13 Bay Roberts Bay Wheels Car Show Bay Arena A showing of antique, muscle, race cars and trucks.
The theme for the 2010 Show will be “The Old Coffee Shop” (Owned and operated by the Spracklin family of the 1950-60 era).
Admission - $5.00 single and $10.00 family pass. All proceeds from the show are donated to various charities through the VOCM Cares Foundation. (A Cupids 400 Event)

July 2 - July 11 Cupids and Neighbouring Communities Early Performing Arts Festival The Early Performing Arts Festival will offer a high quality, educational and entertaining experience of the performing arts of earlier eras to a broad audience. It will provide an immersive experience that links people to the roots of Newfoundland and Labrador’s culture and to the life and times of particular historical periods through music, dance, and theatre.

July 18 Carbonear 22nd Annual Carbonear Sprint Triathlon Event involves a 500m Swim, 20km Bike, and a 5km Run participated in by athletes province wide. The race begins in Salmon Cove Pond, followed by a bike ride through Victoria and Scenic Freshwater, and finished with a run through beautiful Carbonear.Check in at 8:30am - Start at 10:00am.
