The challenging Crout's Way Hiking Trial, which begins in Makinsons, Conception Bay ends in Hopeall, Trinity Bay. (The trail follows a path built by John Guy's Cupids colonists in 1612, when they were attempting to make contact with the Beothuk in Trinity Bay.) The Baccalieu Trail Heritage Corporation has been developing the trail, which is a "true wilderness experience." Walking the complete trail takes about two days, and it is only for the experienced hiker.
