Victoria [Municipality on the Baccalieu Trail incorporated 7/1/1971. Population 1769 - 2006 census] The Town of Victoria probably began as a "winterhouse" for people from Freshwater and Carbonear. The settlement was named in honour of Queen Victoria and was known in the nineteenth century as Victoria Village.

Wabana [Municipality on the Killick Coast, incorporated 8/28/1950 Population 2,418 - 2006 census ] Wabana is the largest community on Bell Island. Its location in the middle of Conception Bay makes its natural environment spectacular. The towering cliffs with unusual layered rock formations provide a backdrop to viewing many species of birds and many types of wild vegetation. A car and passenger ferry travels back and forth from Portugal Cove - St. Phillips to Bell Island frequently each day.

Whitbourne [Municipality on the Baccalieu Trail incorporated 4/16/1968. Population 855 - 2006 census] Whitbourne, located just off the TransCanada Highway on Route 81, provides the gateway to the Avalon Peninsula for those travelling from the western part of the province. Route 80 is one of the two entrances to the Baccalieu Trail, Route 100 and Route 81 lead to the Marine Atlantic Ferry Service in Argentia and other parts of Placentia and St. Mary's Bays, and Route 1, the Trans Canada leads towards the second entrance to the Baccalieu Trail, the Admirals' Coast, the Irish Loop, and the capital city of St. John's. Winterton [Municipality on the Baccalieu Trail incorporated 4/15/1964. Population 518 - 2006 census]The community of Winterton, once known as Scilly Cove, is one of the oldest in the province with a recorded history that goes back to the 17century. It has headstones dating back to the 1700s. The name was changed to Winterton in 1912 to honor a former Newfoundland Prime Minister, Sir James S. Winter. The town has two walking trails: the Sugarloaf Trail and the Outside Pond Park Trail, which are connected to a large trail along the shoreline of Lower Trinity South.
